Coaching Certification Course
Want to develop, learn and sharpen your coaching skills and make a difference? We’re opening up spots now for our official coaching certification program. Not only will you learn techniques to help you teach clients different barbell movements, but you’ll get a deep dive into the philosophy that is at the core of Raise the Bar Initiative’s mission. Passing the exam qualifies you to teach any RBI-sponsored classes, like the Barbell Club.

January 25-26, 2025, 8:30a-1:00p each day

The Details:
2-day Course & Exam: $400
1-day Course & Exam: $225
Syllabus
Day 1: Learn how to lead clients in warm-ups, the mechanics of a proper squat, bench press, overhead press, and cool-down.
Day 2: Learn how to teach proper deadlift technique before incorporating your knowledge into creating appropriate accessory movements and workout plans. Includes module on the RBI philosophy and how it applies to coaching techniques.
Note that if you fail to pass the exam and choose to retake the test, a $50 fee for each exam will apply.

If you want to apply your skills to helping young women in Metro high schools gain strength and self-confidence, we are offering special discounts for coaches who offer to volunteer for the Barbell Club. You can become certified as a head or assistant coach forfree if you commit to leading two Barbell Club sessions (fall and spring session)
Eligibility Requirements
Must volunteer within two years of successfully passing certification courses
Submit a workout plan to cover one week of Barbell Club coaching
Complete CPR and mandatory reporting training
Be an active RBI volunteer
Have previously attend three Barbell Club sessions
Strength trained with a barbell for a minimum of one year
Don’t meet all the requirements, but still interested? If you commit to volunteering 20 hours inside of the RBI organization within 2 years then you get can a reduced rate of $75 for both days, $50 for 1 day.
